For millennia, cannabis has been used as a muse, supporting artists through their endeavors and serving as a guiding light through their creative processes. On Aug 18th, join The Legion of Bloom and Guerilla One for a night bridging the two communities.
Curated by Guerilla One, EWKUKS' Fairfax location will feature the work of: Menso One, Jim Taz Evans, Saber, Teachr, Sek, Page One, Plastic Jesus, Thrashbird, Sebastian Walker, Phobik, Mikey Imperiale, Brandon Boyd, Ceasar Salazar, Sal Sanchez, Blah, Antonio Pelayo, Isaac Pelayo, Katie Ann Martin, Tania Zatikian, Bad Brain, Miss Ramey, Rough & Greedy, and Tre Tre Da Don.
Sebastian Walker says, "Cannabis is a part of my life and habits. I think it helps me be more patient in my creative process than I would be without it. Details tend to not be as bad when you're stoned. Weed makes you be in what you do and forget about the clock. Painting, drawing, and most creative things take a lot of patience. I don't think there should be such a stigma around it. I also believe it helps minds that can not stop, to focus on the task at hand."
Jim Evans says, "I'm excited to be a part of the Cannabis Art Show; it has a stellar line up of artists, a legendary curator, and it's one of my favorite subjects!"
While supplies last, attendees can purchase a custom event print designed by Jim Evans, the iconic artist behind poster art for Green Day, L7, The Allman Brothers Band, The Beastie Boys, and more. Limited edition Legion of Bloom x EWKUKS bandanas and t-shirts will also be available. All purchases receive a coupon for a $1 PAX Era device with any Legion of Bloom Era Pod purchase - redeemable exclusively at Koreatown Collective (off of Melrose).
The installation runs through September 18th. Please RSVP to the opening party to attend! Head to our Instagram to get a sneak peek of the visuals.
