Legion Patients and Customers,

Over the past three years, The Legion of Bloom has gone above and beyond to ensure that we are operating within full compliance of California state law. On January 1st, the Legion of Bloom presented our full line of cannabis products in updated packaging, developed in accordance with California's new track and trace system.

Recently, the industry including the  Legion of Bloom have faced unexpected, extended lead times on products, due to delays in product testing related to the state's new regulations.   We expect this bottle neck to be alleviated shortly and are working diligently to provide you with even more Legion of Bloom products very soon.

Thank you for your patience and continued support

If you're breathing, there's a good chance you've heard about THC and/or CBD -- the cannabinoids responsible for providing patients and adult consumers with loads of euphoria, comfort, and relief; however, the pain relieving, anti-insomnia, antibacterial, anti-convulsive, and appetite stimulating effects of another cannabinoid, CBN, is finally having a scientific moment.

CBN is usually the result of degraded THC. With little to no psychoactive effects, CBN offers a great alternative to prescription sedatives. In fact, according to Steep Hill Labs, "The consumption of 2.5mg to 5mg of CBN has the same level of sedation as a mild pharmaceutical sedative, with a relaxed body sensation similar to 5mg to 10mg of diazepam."

CBN is generally used with other cannabinoids like CBD and THC to provide consumers with a personalized, synergistic treatment method. Our 1:1 CBD:THC Terrapen contains over 74% total cannabinoids, including THC, CBD, CBN, THCV, and CBG. Available in four different varieties:

  • Re:Leive for pain
  • Re:Lax for sleep
  • Re:Zen for mental clarity
  • Re:Vive for energy

We hope this makes it easier for our consumers to shop by desired outcome, and have developed our products with clarity, transparency, and ease in mind. Read our Terrapen test results here

By nature, the cannabis plant produces THCA, a cannabinoid that once heated and activated, converts into bioavailable THC. Because baked cannabis goods are processed by your digestive system and liver prior to entering the bloodstream, they sometimes provide consumers with more potent feelings of physical relief, euphoria, and relaxation.

Infuse butter with Legion Grown flower for a potent, terpene-rich edible experience. Here's what you'll need:

  • 8 oz. unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of water
  • crockpot
  • strainer
  • cheesecloth
  • large bowl with cover
  • 1/2 ounce of ground Legion Grown cannabis

Decarboxylate your ground cannabis in the oven at 225 degrees for 50 minutes, or use the Ardent NOVA for a precise, smell-free decarb. Once browned, place your decarboxylated flower in a piece of cheesecloth and fasten. Place into your crockpot with two cups of water and softened butter on low. Stir every 15-30 minutes, and allow to infuse for 3-4 hours. Turn off the heat, remove your cheesecloth from the mixture, and squeeze out any additional liquid that it may have retained into your bowl. Pour the rest o your mixture into the bowl, cover it, and place inside the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. Once the butter has solidified on the top layer, carefully remove it, and dispose of the leftover water in the bowl.

You now have a half pound of Legion Grown infused cannabis butter ready to help you get creative in the kitchen!

What's a terpene? We won't judge you for being late to the party, but take notes, 'cause this stuff is important!

Terpenes are the super fragrant compounds found in botanical plants. To break that down a bit further, they're the molecules responsible for an organic substance's taste, smell, and flavor.

By carefully harvesting cannabis plants and extracting their "essential oils," we can preserve the plant's terpene profile or the aromatic properties contained within each strain. When combined with cannabinoids like THC and CBD, cannabis derived terpenes synergistically work with your body's endocannabinoid system, activate CB2 receptors, and (if fused with the right compounds,) can cause psychoactive effects. Our Legion of Bloom Monarch cartridge utilizes cannabis derived terpenes to provide consumers with an authentic stain specific, clean, flavorful vape experience.

Similar olfactory stimulation can be produced by pulling individually isolated terpenes from plants, fruits, and herbs; we refer to these as botanically derived terpenes.  Our Legion of Bloom Terrapen cartridges and Terrapen Pods are available in a 1:1 CBD:THC ratio and contain four different therapeutic terpene profiles. We recommend Re:lieve for pain, RE:lax for sleep, RE:vive for energizing, and RE:zen for mental clarity; these pods are a great way to experience a blend of, natural botanically derived terpenes crafted to match the corresponding strain's specific terpene profile.

Both cannabis derived terpenes and botanically derived terpenes are extracted directly from their plant sources while synthetic terpenes are produced in labs, sometimes using reproduced chemicals to imitate non-artificial plant profiles.

Our suggestion? Keep it natural, know your farmer, and ask what terpenes (if any) are in your favorite products. The best consumer is an informed consumer!

Below is a great chart that we have created to help break it down for you.

The Vegas Cannabis Summit is a two-day conference giving leading cannabis professionals a platform to share their entrepreneurial expertise with the emerging national market.

Summit panels dive deeply into a range of cannabis-related sub-topics including technology, compliance, activism, culinary, culture, and more.

Last week, Troy Meadows, the Legion of Bloom's Co-Founder and Director of Marketing, spoke at the Vegas Cannabis Summit's "Marketing in the Mainstream: Writing the new language of cannabis messaging," presented by Dope Magazine. Troy spoke alongside The Grow Division's Eddie Donaldson, and Dope Magazine's James Zachodni and David Tran, on the importance of using social media, guerrilla marketing, advertising, and public relations to make an efficient and long-lasting impact on your consumer.

California's recent legalization of adult recreational cannabis consumption has opened doors for both the canna-curious, and those who'd never before considered how this ancient plant might improve their quality of life.

A concern that we we frequently hear from amateur cannabis users is that THC has a tendency to make them paranoid. It doesn't have to be that way! Here's how to prevent your cannabis adventure from going left:

1. Know your product -- and if possible, get to know your farmer. Stick with brands that are committed to natural, pesticide-free cultivation who don't use fillers like propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, MCT oil, or synthetic terpenes in their products. Stick to cannabis derived or natural botanical terpenes from plant sources when selecting a vape cartridge or extract.

2. Know your strain(s) -- Your budtender is your friend. Think of them as your holistic pharmacist; not just as the super-cool hippy down the street. Feel free to let them know about your ailments, preferences, budget, and any hesitations that you may have. They'll match you with products (and instructions) that fit the bill!

3. Know your dose -- Slow and steady wins the race. Whether you're nibbling on an edible, taking your first dab, or puffing on a vape pen, be sure to read the packaging carefully. Think of it as a haircut -- you can always cut off more, but once you go too far, it's going to take a little while to get back where you want to be.

4. Use CBD -- The cannabis plant is packed with hundreds of beneficial cannabinoids. We frequently take advantage of THC's beautiful, psychoactive effects, but what do we do when we've stepped too far outside of our comfort zone? Easy. We take advantage of a different, non-psychoactive cannabinoid called CBD. Consider starting with a 1:1 THC/CBD ratio product like our Legion of Bloom TerraPen or Legion of Bloom Terrapen PAX Era Pods

5. Enjoy -- What a time to be alive!
